Sexual Empowerment

Super sexually empowered sounds amazing on its own, but before we all jump into super hero mode let’s get to the core of exactly what being sexually empowered really means.

One of the most important things we can do to end sexual violence is to become truly sexually empowered which is why sexual empowerment has become one of our core principles for creating a community solution to end sexual assault.

Sexual empowerment begins with a journey of self discovery. First, you must take an honest look inside yourself and determine who you are, what you stand for and what your personal boundaries are. There are no right answers; you simply must be willing to be true to yourself and commit to the standards you set for yourself. Once you can define your boundaries, you have to be willing to live in them and stand behind them in all life's situations. This means being comfortable and confident in all of your choices. If part of your journey means you choose not to have sex then, right on. Or if you choose to connect with another person physically make sure this is a decision you make while sober.

Lastly, and this is the hard part, once you know who you are, what you stand for and you live comfortably and confidently in your own sexual choices you must be willing to support and respect all people, even when their values and choices do not mirror your own. Then my friends, you are truly sexually empowered!
